Artie MCP connector

The Artie connector lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any MCP client check Artie connectors, browse source tables, manage column hashing salts and encryption keys, and start exports, with every action running as the signed-in person and recorded in an audit log.

  • How it connects. Connects with an API key. The credential goes into a vault nobody reads back.

  • One address. https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, the same for every user.

  • Their own access. An agent never gets more than the person it acts for.

How to connect

How to connect Artie to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

Two steps, about a minute.

1

In Elaichi

Connect Artie once

  1. Open Connections, choose Add connection, and pick Artie.

  2. Optionally set Share with to give a team access, then press Connect.

  3. Paste an Artie API key. One person generates a token in Artie and pastes it once. Everyone else works through Share with, and never sees it.

The credential is vaulted. Nobody reads it back, not even the AI.

Use cases

What teams do with Artie through Elaichi

Every one of these runs inside the access the person already has, and lands in the same audit log.

  • Data engineering

Check a source before building a pipeline

Ping a new Postgres, Oracle or DynamoDB connector in Artie and list its databases, schemas and tables so you know it is reachable before anyone sets up replication.

  • Analytics

Find where a table actually lives

Search the Artie data catalog for the orders or customers table, pull its column detail, and answer the question without opening three separate consoles.

  • Security

Review how sensitive columns are masked

List every column hashing salt and encryption key in Artie, then preview how a salt hashes a field before that data lands in the warehouse.

  • Platform

Stand up a new Snowflake destination

Create the Snowflake warehouse, database and schema through Artie, then confirm the connector can reach it, all from the same conversation.

  • Data engineering

Clean up after a database cutover

List the remaining Postgres publications, drop the stale replication slot, and update the Artie connector settings once the migration is finished.

  • Operations

Start an export when a team asks

Kick off a DynamoDB export in Artie the moment a downstream team needs a fresh copy, and check the connector afterward to confirm it went through.

Try asking

  • “Which Artie connectors pull tables from the warehouse database?”
  • “Summarize schemas added across Artie connectors this month.”
  • “List columns covered by Artie column hashing salts.”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect Artie to Claude?

Open Elaichi, choose Artie from the catalog, and paste in your Artie API key when prompted. There is no OAuth application to register and no client ID or secret to generate. Then in Claude go to Customize, then Connectors, then Add, and paste the endpoint https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp. Sign in with your Elaichi account and Artie is ready to use.

Does Artie work with ChatGPT and Cursor as well as Claude?

Yes. Once Artie is connected in Elaichi, the same endpoint, https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, any other MCP client and the Elaichi Agent. You connect Artie once and every client picks it up.

What can an AI agent actually do with my Artie data?

An agent can look up an Artie connector, ping it to see whether it is reachable, and list the databases, schemas, tables and column detail behind it. It can search the Artie data catalog, list and preview column hashing salts, list encryption keys, create Snowflake warehouses, databases and schemas, start a DynamoDB export, and manage Postgres publications and replication slots. Because Artie exposes a lot of actions, short concrete asks such as "list the tables in the billing connector" work better than long paragraphs.

Does connecting Artie give the AI access to every connector and key in my workspace?

No. Every call to Artie runs with the access of the person who signed in, so the agent sees the connectors, salts and encryption keys that person's Artie API key can already see, and nothing more. Elaichi can narrow that access further with restrictions, but it never widens it.

Can my team share one Artie connection?

Yes. One person connects Artie in Elaichi and shares the connection with a team, and nobody else ever handles the Artie API key. Each teammate still signs in to Elaichi as themselves, so the audit log names the actual person behind every ping, export or catalog search.

Can I stop an agent from deleting or changing things in Artie?

Yes. Restrictions in Elaichi work per action, so you can block deleting an Artie connector, dropping a replication slot or removing a hashing salt while still allowing lookups and catalog searches. A blocked action is never shown to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor at all, so no prompt can reach it.

What happens to an Artie connection when someone leaves?

Offboarding a person in Elaichi ends their access to Artie at once, across every client they used. If they shared the Artie connection with a team, it keeps working for everyone else. Disconnecting Artie once in Elaichi removes it from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and every other client at the same time.

Does the Artie MCP connector work with Gemini, Codex, Claude Code or other MCP clients?

Yes. Artie is reached over the same MCP endpoint every client uses, so anything that speaks MCP can call it — Gemini, Codex, Claude Code, Windsurf, Cline, Zed and OpenCode among them — alongside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and the Elaichi Agent. The tools on offer and the access behind them are identical whichever client asks. Only the setup screen differs.

Is Elaichi an alternative to Zapier MCP for Artie?

Yes. Both let Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor use Artie. Zapier MCP fits a team that already automates in Zapier, since each person signs in and acts as themselves in that account. Elaichi fits when IT wants one address for the whole company, per-tool rules by role, and a record of every Artie call.

How is Elaichi different from Composio for Artie?

Composio gives AI agents tools and sign-in handling across 1,000+ apps, for developers building agents or people using an assistant, billed per tool call. Elaichi gives a company's own people governed access to Artie: one address, restrictions per role or user, and $15 per user per month. Both have role permissions and a log of every call.
