Chimoney MCP connector

Connecting Chimoney to Elaichi lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any MCP client send bank, airtime, gift card, and wallet payouts, verify accounts, and check rates and fees, each action tied to the person who signed in.

  • How it connects. Connects with an API key. The credential goes into a vault nobody reads back.

  • One address. https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, the same for every user.

  • Their own access. An agent never gets more than the person it acts for.

How to connect

How to connect Chimoney to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

Two steps, about a minute.

In Elaichi

Connect Chimoney once

  1. Open Connections, choose Add connection, and pick Chimoney.

  2. Optionally set Share with to give a team access, then press Connect.

  3. Paste a Chimoney API key. One person generates a token in Chimoney and pastes it once. Everyone else works through Share with, and never sees it.

The credential is vaulted. Nobody reads it back, not even the AI.

The Elaichi Agent already has these tools, with nothing to set up.

Use cases

What teams do with Chimoney through Elaichi

Every one of these runs inside the access the person already has, and lands in the same audit log.

  • Finance

Pay a contractor in their local currency

Ask what a 500 dollar payout comes to in naira or shillings, check the fee estimate, then send the bank payout to a saved beneficiary.

  • Finance

Verify a bank account before the first payout

Confirm the account number matches the account holder at that bank and branch, so the first payment does not bounce or land with the wrong person.

  • People

Send airtime and gift cards as rewards

Recognize a team member or a survey participant with an airtime top-up or a gift card, sent to the right country in one ask.

  • Operations

Set up a new beneficiary correctly

Look up the beneficiary rules and accepted identification types for a country, then create the beneficiary bank record with the fields that country actually requires.

  • Operations

Check exchange rates before quoting a payout

Get the current rate, convert a local amount to dollars or back, and give a partner a number you can stand behind.

  • Support

Refund a customer to their wallet

Pull up the multicurrency wallet balances and send a wallet or Chimoney payout to close out a refund without leaving the conversation.

Try asking

  • “Show today's exchange rates for USD to KES.”
  • “List beneficiary banks in Nigeria for this week's payouts.”
  • “Convert 5,000 USD to local amounts for Ghana.”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect Chimoney to Claude?

First connect Chimoney in Elaichi by pasting in the API key from your Chimoney dashboard; there is no OAuth application to register and no client ID or secret to generate. Then in Claude go to Customize, then Connectors, then Add, and paste the Elaichi endpoint https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp. Sign in as yourself and Chimoney payouts, beneficiaries, rates, and fees are available in your chat.

Does Chimoney work with ChatGPT and Cursor as well as Claude?

Yes. Once Chimoney is connected in Elaichi, the same endpoint, https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, any other MCP client, and the Elaichi Agent. You connect Chimoney once and every client picks it up.

What can an AI agent actually do with my Chimoney account?

It can send payouts to a bank account, a mobile wallet, a Chimoney account, or as airtime or a gift card, and it can create and preview beneficiaries before paying them. It can also verify a bank account number, look up banks and branches by country, check exchange rates, convert between local currency and dollars, estimate fees, and show your multicurrency wallet balances. Chimoney offers a lot of actions, so short concrete asks like "estimate the fee for a 200 dollar bank payout to Ghana" work better than long paragraphs.

Does connecting Chimoney give the AI access to all my payouts and wallets?

The AI acts inside the access of the Chimoney API key you connected and the person who signed in, so it can do nothing that key cannot do in Chimoney itself. Elaichi can then narrow that further, for example allowing rate checks and account verification while blocking payouts, but it can never widen it beyond what Chimoney already grants.

Can my team share one Chimoney connection?

Yes. One person connects Chimoney with the API key and shares the connection with a team in Elaichi, and nobody else ever sees or handles that key. Each teammate still signs in to Elaichi as themselves, so every Chimoney payout or lookup in the audit log names the person who asked for it.

Can I stop an agent from sending payouts or changing beneficiaries in Chimoney?

Yes. Restrictions in Elaichi apply per action, so you can allow Chimoney rate lookups, fee estimates, and account verification while blocking bank, airtime, wallet, and gift card payouts or beneficiary creation. A blocked action is never shown to Claude, ChatGPT, or any other client at all, so no prompt, accidental or otherwise, can reach it.

What happens to a Chimoney connection when someone leaves the company?

Offboarding that person in Elaichi ends their access to Chimoney at once across every client they used. If they were part of a shared Chimoney connection, it keeps working for everyone else on the team. If you want to remove Chimoney entirely, disconnecting it once in Elaichi removes it from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and every other client together.

Does the Chimoney MCP connector work with Gemini, Codex, Claude Code or other MCP clients?

Yes. Chimoney is reached over the same MCP endpoint every client uses, so anything that speaks MCP can call it — Gemini, Codex, Claude Code, Windsurf, Cline, Zed and OpenCode among them — alongside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and the Elaichi Agent. The tools on offer and the access behind them are identical whichever client asks. Only the setup screen differs.

Is Elaichi an alternative to Zapier MCP for Chimoney?

Yes. Both let Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor use Chimoney. Zapier MCP fits a team that already automates in Zapier, since each person signs in and acts as themselves in that account. Elaichi fits when IT wants one address for the whole company, per-tool rules by role, and a record of every Chimoney call.

How is Elaichi different from Composio for Chimoney?

Composio gives AI agents tools and sign-in handling across 1,000+ apps, for developers building agents or people using an assistant, billed per tool call. Elaichi gives a company's own people governed access to Chimoney: one address, restrictions per role or user, and $15 per user per month. Both have role permissions and a log of every call.
