How do I connect Google Drive to Claude?

Connect Google Drive in Elaichi first, which opens the normal Google sign-in screen where you choose your account and approve access, with no OAuth application to register and no client ID or secret to generate. Then in Claude go to Customize, then Connectors, then Add, and paste the Elaichi endpoint https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp. Claude signs you in through Elaichi and your Google Drive files, folders and shared drives are available in the conversation.

Does Google Drive work with ChatGPT and Cursor as well as Claude?

Yes. Once Google Drive is connected in Elaichi, the same endpoint, https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, any other MCP client and the Elaichi Agent. You connect Google Drive once and every client you sign into picks it up.

What can an AI agent actually do with my Google Drive data?

With Google Drive connected, an agent can search your files and folders, browse shared drives, open a document and read or summarize its contents, and export a Google Doc in a readable format. It can also list who a file is shared with, show its revision history, read the comments and replies on it, list applied labels and forms, and set a watch so you hear about changes to a folder. This connector reads and monitors Google Drive; it does not create, edit or delete files.

Does connecting Google Drive give the AI access to every file in my company's Drive?

No. Each person signs into Google Drive as themselves, so the agent only sees the files, folders and shared drives that person could already open in Google Drive. Elaichi can narrow that further, for example by limiting which actions a team can use, but it can never widen access beyond what Google Drive itself grants that person.

Can I stop an agent from deleting or changing things in Google Drive?

The Google Drive connector does not include deleting, editing or moving files at all, so an agent cannot do those things through Elaichi. For the actions it does include, such as setting a watch or listing permissions, restrictions apply per action, and any action you block is never shown to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, so no prompt can reach it.

What happens to a Google Drive connection when someone leaves?

When a person is offboarded in Elaichi, their access to Google Drive through every AI client ends at once. If they had shared a Google Drive connection with a team, it keeps working for everyone else. Disconnecting Google Drive once in Elaichi removes it from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and every other client at the same time.

Does the Google Drive MCP connector work with Gemini, Codex, Claude Code or other MCP clients?

Yes. Google Drive is reached over the same MCP endpoint every client uses, so anything that speaks MCP can call it — Gemini, Codex, Claude Code, Windsurf, Cline, Zed and OpenCode among them — alongside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and the Elaichi Agent. The tools on offer and the access behind them are identical whichever client asks. Only the setup screen differs.

Is Elaichi an alternative to Zapier MCP for Google Drive?

Yes. Both let Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor use Google Drive. Zapier MCP fits a team that already automates in Zapier, since each person signs in and acts as themselves in that account.
