Sequin Stream MCP connector

Connect Sequin Stream to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any MCP client and manage your Postgres databases, sink consumers, HTTP endpoints, and backfills in plain language, with every action running as the signed-in person and logged.

  • How it connects. Connects with an API key. The credential goes into a vault nobody reads back.

  • One address. https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, the same for every user.

  • Their own access. An agent never gets more than the person it acts for.

How to connect

How to connect Sequin Stream to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

Two steps, about a minute.

1

In Elaichi

Connect Sequin Stream once

  1. Open Connections, choose Add connection, and pick Sequin Stream.

  2. Optionally set Share with to give a team access, then press Connect.

  3. Paste a Sequin Stream API key. One person generates a token in Sequin Stream and pastes it once. Everyone else works through Share with, and never sees it.

The credential is vaulted. Nobody reads it back, not even the AI.

Use cases

What teams do with Sequin Stream through Elaichi

Every one of these runs inside the access the person already has, and lands in the same audit log.

  • Data engineering

Check every sink before a release

Ask which sink consumers are running in Sequin Stream, which are paused, and where each one is delivering, so you know the pipeline is healthy before you ship.

  • Platform

Start a backfill after a schema change

Once a table has been altered, ask the agent to create a backfill for it in Sequin Stream and keep an eye on it until the consumer has caught up.

  • Analytics

Find out why the warehouse is behind

When numbers look stale, ask which backfills are still in progress and which sink consumers feed that table, and get a plain answer instead of opening three dashboards.

  • Operations

Test a database connection before anyone pages

Run a connection test against a Postgres database in Sequin Stream and refresh its table list, so a dropped credential is caught during the day and not at two in the morning.

  • Product engineering

Point a sink at a new webhook

Create or update an HTTP endpoint in Sequin Stream, then change the sink consumer to deliver there, all from the same conversation where you are writing the receiving code.

  • IT

    Review every connected Postgres database

List the Postgres databases, HTTP endpoints, and pull consumers registered in Sequin Stream, spot the ones nobody remembers setting up, and remove them.

Try asking

  • “List all Sequin Stream backfills started this week.”
  • “Which Postgres databases feed our production HTTP endpoints?”
  • “Create a backfill for the orders table in Sequin Stream.”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect Sequin Stream to Claude?

In Elaichi, choose Sequin Stream, paste in the API key from your Sequin Stream account, and the connection is live. Then in Claude open Customize, then Connectors, then Add, and paste the Elaichi endpoint, https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp. There is no OAuth application to register for Sequin Stream and no client ID or secret to generate. The whole thing takes a few minutes.

Does Sequin Stream work with ChatGPT and Cursor as well as Claude?

Yes. Once Sequin Stream is connected in Elaichi, the same endpoint, https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, is added to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, any other MCP client, and the Elaichi Agent. You connect Sequin Stream once and every client you use can reach it.

What can an AI agent actually do with my Sequin Stream data?

An agent can list the Postgres databases, sink consumers, HTTP endpoints, and backfills in your Sequin Stream account, look at any one of them in detail, and create, update, or remove them. It can also run a connection test against a database and refresh its table list. In practice that means asking whether a sink is paused, starting a backfill after a schema change, or pointing a consumer at a new HTTP endpoint, all in plain language.

Does connecting Sequin Stream give the AI access to every database and consumer?

The agent can only reach what the API key used to connect Sequin Stream can reach, and nothing beyond that. Elaichi can then narrow that further, for example allowing a team to view sink consumers and backfills without being able to create or delete them. Elaichi never widens what Sequin Stream itself allows, it only restricts it.

Can my team share one Sequin Stream connection?

Yes. One person connects Sequin Stream in Elaichi and shares the connection with a team, and nobody else ever sees or handles the API key. Each teammate still signs in to Elaichi as themselves, so every backfill they start or consumer they change is recorded in the audit log under their own name.

Can I stop an agent from deleting or changing things in Sequin Stream?

Yes. Restrictions in Elaichi apply per action, so you can allow listing and viewing Postgres databases, sink consumers, and backfills in Sequin Stream while blocking create, update, and delete. A blocked action is never shown to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any other client, so no prompt, however worded, can reach it.

What happens to a Sequin Stream connection when someone leaves?

When a person is offboarded in Elaichi, their access to Sequin Stream through Elaichi ends at once, in every client they had set up. A Sequin Stream connection that was shared with the team keeps working for everyone else. If you ever want to remove Sequin Stream entirely, disconnecting it once in Elaichi removes it from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and every other client at the same time.

Does the Sequin Stream MCP connector work with Gemini, Codex, Claude Code or other MCP clients?

Yes. Sequin Stream is reached over the same MCP endpoint every client uses, so anything that speaks MCP can call it — Gemini, Codex, Claude Code, Windsurf, Cline, Zed and OpenCode among them — alongside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and the Elaichi Agent. The tools on offer and the access behind them are identical whichever client asks. Only the setup screen differs.

Is Elaichi an alternative to Zapier MCP for Sequin Stream?

Yes. Both let Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor use Sequin Stream. Zapier MCP fits a team that already automates in Zapier, since each person signs in and acts as themselves in that account. Elaichi fits when IT wants one address for the whole company, per-tool rules by role, and a record of every Sequin Stream call.

How is Elaichi different from Composio for Sequin Stream?

Composio gives AI agents tools and sign-in handling across 1,000+ apps, for developers building agents or people using an assistant, billed per tool call. Elaichi gives a company's own people governed access to Sequin Stream: one address, restrictions per role or user, and $15 per user per month. Both have role permissions and a log of every call.
