Airtable MCP connector

The Airtable connector lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or the Elaichi Agent read and update the bases, tables, records, and comments your team already keeps in Airtable, with each person signed in as themselves and every change logged.

  • How it connects. Connects over OAuth. The credential goes into a vault nobody reads back.

  • One address. https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, the same for every user.

  • Their own access. An agent never gets more than the person it acts for.

How to connect

How to connect Airtable to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

Two steps, about a minute.

1

In Elaichi

Connect Airtable once

  1. Open Connections, choose Add connection, and pick Airtable.

  2. Optionally set Share with to give a team access, then press Connect.

  3. Approve it in Airtable. Airtable's own window opens. Whoever approves it decides what this connection can reach.

The credential is vaulted. Nobody reads it back, not even the AI.

Use cases

What teams do with Airtable through Elaichi

Every one of these runs inside the access the person already has, and lands in the same audit log.

  • Support

Log a ticket while the customer is still talking

Describe the issue in a sentence and a new record lands in the support base with the right fields filled in. Follow up later by asking what is still open and who it is assigned to.

  • Operations

Catch a record up after a meeting

Tell the agent what changed and it updates the status, owner, and due date on the right row in Airtable. Add a comment so the rest of the team sees why.

  • Marketing

Pull this week's content calendar into a summary

Ask which pieces in the editorial base are due, blocked, or waiting on review, and get a plain answer instead of scrolling a grid. Create the next batch of records from a brief in one go.

  • Product

Turn feedback into a tracked request

Paste in what a customer said and the agent files it in the feature requests table with the source and priority set. Read back the comments on any request before a planning call.

  • People

    Keep the onboarding tracker current

Ask which new hires still have open tasks in the onboarding base and mark items done as they land. Add a new table or field when the checklist changes, without opening Airtable.

  • IT

Review who is doing what across Airtable

Ask for recent audit activity, look up a user or a user group, and check which webhooks are set up on a base. Update or remove a user account when someone changes role.

Try asking

  • “Summarize records added to the Support Queue table this week.”
  • “Which bases have tables with no records created lately?”
  • “List open tickets in the Intake base by owner.”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect Airtable to Claude?

Connect Airtable inside Elaichi first, which opens Airtable's own sign-in page and asks you to allow access to your bases, then brings you straight back. There is no OAuth application to register and no client ID or secret to generate. Then in Claude go to Customize, then Connectors, then Add, and paste the endpoint https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp. Claude asks you to sign in to Elaichi once and Airtable is available in your conversations.

Does Airtable work with ChatGPT and Cursor as well as Claude?

Yes. Once Airtable is connected in Elaichi, the same endpoint, https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, any other MCP client, and the Elaichi Agent. You connect Airtable once and every client you use picks it up.

What can an AI agent actually do with my Airtable data?

An agent connected to Airtable can list your bases and tables, find and read records, create new records, update fields on existing ones, and add or read comments. It can also create tables and fields, look up users and user groups, and pull recent audit activity. Short, concrete asks work best, such as "mark the Acme ticket in the support base as resolved" rather than a long paragraph.

Does connecting Airtable give the AI access to every base in my workspace?

No. The agent sees only the Airtable bases, tables, and records that the person who signed in can already open, because every request runs as that person. Elaichi can narrow that further, for example to reading only, but it can never grant access to an Airtable base the person does not already have.

Can my team share one Airtable connection?

Yes. One person connects Airtable in Elaichi and shares the connection with a team, so nobody else ever handles a credential or goes through the Airtable sign-in themselves. Each teammate still signs in to Elaichi as themselves, so the audit log records who created or changed each Airtable record.

Can I stop an agent from deleting or changing things in Airtable?

Yes. Restrictions in Elaichi apply per action, so you can allow reading Airtable records while blocking deleting records, removing users, or editing tables. A blocked action is never shown to Claude, ChatGPT, or any other client at all, so no prompt, however worded, can reach it.

What happens to an Airtable connection when someone leaves?

Offboarding a person in Elaichi ends their access to Airtable through every connected client at once. If they had shared an Airtable connection with a team, it keeps working for everyone else on that team. If you want the connection gone entirely, disconnecting Airtable once in Elaichi removes it from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and every other client together.

Does the Airtable MCP connector work with Gemini, Codex, Claude Code or other MCP clients?

Yes. Airtable is reached over the same MCP endpoint every client uses, so anything that speaks MCP can call it — Gemini, Codex, Claude Code, Windsurf, Cline, Zed and OpenCode among them — alongside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and the Elaichi Agent. The tools on offer and the access behind them are identical whichever client asks. Only the setup screen differs.

Is Elaichi an alternative to Zapier MCP for Airtable?

Yes. Both let Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor use Airtable. Zapier MCP fits a team that already automates in Zapier, since each person signs in and acts as themselves in that account. Elaichi fits when IT wants one address for the whole company, per-tool rules by role, and a record of every Airtable call.

How is Elaichi different from Composio for Airtable?

Composio gives AI agents tools and sign-in handling across 1,000+ apps, for developers building agents or people using an assistant, billed per tool call. Elaichi gives a company's own people governed access to Airtable: one address, restrictions per role or user, and $15 per user per month. Both have role permissions and a log of every call.
