Udemy Business MCP connector

The Udemy Business connector brings your learner accounts and learning groups into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and any MCP client, so your team can add learners, keep their details current, and organize groups by asking in plain language.

  • How it connects. Connects with an API key. The credential goes into a vault nobody reads back.

  • One address. https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, the same for every user.

  • Their own access. An agent never gets more than the person it acts for.

How to connect

How to connect Udemy Business to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

Two steps, about a minute.

In Elaichi

Connect Udemy Business once

  1. Open Connections, choose Add connection, and pick Udemy Business.

  2. Optionally set Share with to give a team access, then press Connect.

  3. Paste an Udemy Business API key. One person generates a token in Udemy Business and pastes it once. Everyone else works through Share with, and never sees it.

The credential is vaulted. Nobody reads it back, not even the AI.

Use cases

What teams do with Udemy Business through Elaichi

Every one of these runs inside the access the person already has, and lands in the same audit log.

  • HR

Add a new hire as a learner

On someone's first week, ask the agent to create their Udemy Business learner account with the right name and email, then place them in the groups their role calls for.

  • People Ops

Fix learner details after a change

When someone changes name, email, or manager, catch their Udemy Business record up in one request instead of opening the admin console and hunting for the account.

  • Learning and Development

Build a group for a new program

Set up a group for the next leadership cohort or compliance rollout, then add the right learners to it before the first session starts.

  • IT

Review who has a learner account

Pull the full list of Udemy Business users and compare it against your directory to spot accounts that should not be there, or people who were never added.

  • Managers

See which groups your team sits in

Ask which learning groups your direct reports belong to and move someone into the right one when they change roles or join a project.

  • Learning and Development

    Clean up groups nobody uses

List every group, find the ones left over from finished programs, and update or remove them so learners only see groups that still matter.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect Udemy Business to Claude?

First connect Udemy Business in Elaichi: open the connector, paste in the API key from your Udemy Business admin settings, and save. There is no OAuth application to register and no client ID or secret to generate. Then in Claude go to Customize, then Connectors, then Add, and paste the endpoint https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp. Sign in with your Elaichi account and Udemy Business is ready to use in Claude.

Does Udemy Business work with ChatGPT and Cursor as well as Claude?

Yes. Once Udemy Business is connected in Elaichi, the same endpoint, https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, any other MCP client, and the Elaichi Agent. You connect Udemy Business once and every client picks it up.

What can an AI agent actually do with my Udemy Business data?

With the Udemy Business connector, an agent can look up learners, add a new learner account, and update someone's name, email, or other details when they change. It can also list your learning groups, create a group for a new program, change a group's details or membership, and remove groups that are no longer needed. It works with learner accounts and groups, not course catalogs or completion reports.

Does connecting Udemy Business give the AI access to my whole learner directory?

Access follows whoever signed in to Udemy Business through Elaichi, so the agent can only see and change the learners and groups that person's Udemy Business account already allows. Elaichi can narrow that further, for example limiting a team to reading learner records without creating or changing anything. Elaichi never widens access beyond what Udemy Business itself grants.

Can my team share one Udemy Business connection?

Yes. One administrator connects Udemy Business in Elaichi and shares the connection with a team, and nobody else ever handles the API key. Each teammate still signs in to Elaichi as themselves, so every change to a learner or group is recorded under their own name in the audit log.

Can I stop an agent from deleting or changing things in Udemy Business?

Yes. Restrictions in Elaichi apply per action, so you can allow looking up Udemy Business learners and groups while blocking creating, updating, or deleting them. A blocked action is never shown to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any other client, so no prompt, however worded, can reach it.

What happens to a Udemy Business connection when someone leaves?

When you offboard a person in Elaichi, their access to Udemy Business through every AI client ends at once. If the Udemy Business connection was shared with a team, it keeps working for everyone else on that team. If you want to remove Udemy Business entirely, disconnecting it once in Elaichi removes it from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and every other client at the same time.

Does the Udemy Business MCP connector work with Gemini, Codex, Claude Code or other MCP clients?

Yes. Udemy Business is reached over the same MCP endpoint every client uses, so anything that speaks MCP can call it — Gemini, Codex, Claude Code, Windsurf, Cline, Zed and OpenCode among them — alongside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and the Elaichi Agent. The tools on offer and the access behind them are identical whichever client asks. Only the setup screen differs.

Is Elaichi an alternative to Zapier MCP for Udemy Business?

Yes. Both let Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor use Udemy Business. Zapier MCP fits a team that already automates in Zapier, since each person signs in and acts as themselves in that account. Elaichi fits when IT wants one address for the whole company, per-tool rules by role, and a record of every Udemy Business call.

How is Elaichi different from Composio for Udemy Business?

Composio gives AI agents tools and sign-in handling across 1,000+ apps, for developers building agents or people using an assistant, billed per tool call. Elaichi gives a company's own people governed access to Udemy Business: one address, restrictions per role or user, and $15 per user per month. Both have role permissions and a log of every call.
