Zoho Desk MCP connector

The Zoho Desk connector lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and the Elaichi Agent read, create, update, merge, and close Zoho Desk tickets as the person who signed in, with every action recorded in an audit log.

  • How it connects. Connects over OAuth. The credential goes into a vault nobody reads back.

  • One address. https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, the same for every user.

  • Their own access. An agent never gets more than the person it acts for.

How to connect

How to connect Zoho Desk to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

Two steps, about a minute.

1

In Elaichi

Connect Zoho Desk once

  1. Open Connections, choose Add connection, and pick Zoho Desk.

  2. Optionally set Share with to give a team access, then press Connect.

  3. Approve it in Zoho Desk. Zoho Desk's own window opens. Whoever approves it decides what this connection can reach.

The credential is vaulted. Nobody reads it back, not even the AI.

Use cases

What teams do with Zoho Desk through Elaichi

Every one of these runs inside the access the person already has, and lands in the same audit log.

  • Support

Catch a ticket up after a customer call

Ask the agent to pull up the Zoho Desk ticket by its number, read the latest thread, and update the status, priority, or notes so the record matches what was just agreed on the phone.

  • Support

Merge duplicate tickets from the same customer

When one customer emails three times about the same problem, ask the agent to find the matching Zoho Desk tickets and merge them into one so the conversation lives in a single place.

  • Support leads

Close out a batch of resolved tickets

At the end of a shift, ask for every open Zoho Desk ticket that has had no reply in a week, review the list, and close them in one go instead of clicking through each one.

  • Support leads

Route a backlog to the right agents

Ask the agent to run skill based assignment on the unassigned Zoho Desk tickets in a department so billing questions land with billing agents and technical ones with the right specialists.

  • Customer success

Suggest help articles before you reply

Open a Zoho Desk ticket and ask which knowledge base articles fit the question, then attach the useful ones to the ticket so the reply goes out with a link the customer can keep.

  • IT helpdesk

Clear spam and split mixed requests

Ask the agent to mark junk Zoho Desk tickets as spam and empty the spam folder, or split a ticket that bundles two unrelated requests into two tickets that can be worked separately.

Try asking

  • “List tickets opened this week in Billing Support.”
  • “Summarize the oldest ten unresolved tickets by department.”
  • “Close the spam tickets flagged since Monday.”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect Zoho Desk to Claude?

First connect Zoho Desk in Elaichi: choose it from the catalog and you are sent to the normal Zoho sign-in page, where you log in with your own Zoho account and approve access. There is no OAuth application to register and no client ID or secret to generate. Then open Claude, go to Customize, then Connectors, then Add, and paste https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp as the endpoint. Claude asks you to sign in to Elaichi once, and from then on it can work with your Zoho Desk tickets as you.

Does Zoho Desk work with ChatGPT and Cursor as well as Claude?

Yes. Once Zoho Desk is connected in Elaichi, the same endpoint, https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, is what you paste into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, any other MCP client, and the Elaichi Agent. You connect Zoho Desk once and every client uses that one connection.

What can an AI agent actually do with my Zoho Desk data?

An agent connected to Zoho Desk can look up a ticket by number or ID, read the threads on it, list tickets that match a filter, create new tickets, and update fields such as status, priority, or owner. It can also merge duplicates, split a ticket in two, move a ticket to another department, close many tickets at once, mark tickets as spam or unread, view a ticket's history, run skill based assignment, and suggest and attach relevant help articles. Because Zoho Desk offers a lot of actions, short concrete asks like "close ticket 4821" work better than long paragraphs.

Does connecting Zoho Desk give the AI access to every department and ticket?

No. When you connect Zoho Desk you sign in as yourself, so the agent can only see the departments, tickets, and threads that your own Zoho Desk role and profile already allow. Elaichi can narrow that further, for example by hiding delete or merge actions from a team, but it can never grant the agent anything your Zoho Desk account does not have.

Can my team share one Zoho Desk connection?

Yes. One person connects Zoho Desk in Elaichi and shares the connection with a team, and nobody else on that team ever sees or handles a Zoho credential. Each teammate still signs in to Elaichi as themselves, so every ticket update or closure in the audit log carries the name of the person who asked for it, not the name of whoever set up the connection.

Can I stop an agent from deleting or changing tickets in Zoho Desk?

Yes. In Elaichi you can restrict Zoho Desk action by action, so a team might be allowed to read tickets and threads but not delete tickets, empty spam, or bulk update them. A blocked action is never shown to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any other client at all, so no prompt, however worded, can reach it.

What happens to a Zoho Desk connection when someone leaves?

When you offboard a person in Elaichi, their access to Zoho Desk through every AI client ends at once. If they had shared a Zoho Desk connection with a team, that connection keeps working for everyone else, and each remaining person still acts under their own sign-in. If you ever want Zoho Desk gone entirely, disconnecting it once in Elaichi removes it from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and every other client in the same step.

Does the Zoho Desk MCP connector work with Gemini, Codex, Claude Code or other MCP clients?

Yes. Zoho Desk is reached over the same MCP endpoint every client uses, so anything that speaks MCP can call it — Gemini, Codex, Claude Code, Windsurf, Cline, Zed and OpenCode among them — alongside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and the Elaichi Agent. The tools on offer and the access behind them are identical whichever client asks. Only the setup screen differs.

Is Elaichi an alternative to Zapier MCP for Zoho Desk?

Yes. Both let Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor use Zoho Desk. Zapier MCP fits a team that already automates in Zapier, since each person signs in and acts as themselves in that account. Elaichi fits when IT wants one address for the whole company, per-tool rules by role, and a record of every Zoho Desk call.

How is Elaichi different from Composio for Zoho Desk?

Composio gives AI agents tools and sign-in handling across 1,000+ apps, for developers building agents or people using an assistant, billed per tool call. Elaichi gives a company's own people governed access to Zoho Desk: one address, restrictions per role or user, and $15 per user per month. Both have role permissions and a log of every call.
